WEST TEXAS MULE DEER
Mule Deer hunting is one of the most popular and sought after hunts in North America. These magnificent trophies are no doubt one of the top 5 most prestigious animals in North America. The problem with getting these hunts are limited tags. Most states you have to draw out, and there are very few landowner/auction tags to be purchased. A few other good areas to hunt you may have to travel abroad. Did you know Texas has some of the best Mule Deer around?
The Trans-Pecos and the Panhandle regions offer some phenomenal Mule Deer hunting. In Texas it’s 90% private landowner tags, with an over the counter license. HWO has access to multiple different private ranches with basically unlimited acreage. We have the ability to cater to corporate “lease” type hunts, or the 1x1 package hunts for Trophy and Management bucks.
The majority of our ranches are on MLDP (Managed Land Deer Permits) which allows you a longer season. Mule Deer season will open the first Saturday of November and run all the way through the end of January. That gives you three months to hunt multiple different phases with a rifle! This also allows us to keep strict management on our herds, and keep a high quality genetic pool.
We run a high success rate on harvesting all mature 6+ year old bucks ranging from 160-210″. We offer discounted management deer hunts as well. Our management hunts will be treated equal to a trophy tag, and we can promise you a management buck that you won’t be disappointed in.
